At Coleraine Foot Clinic we treat corns, callouses, dry skin, ingrowing toenails, fungal infections, nail irregularities, verruca and other skin conditions. At this appointment we will discuss your foot health concerns and provide treatment along with relevant advice and information.
If you are having discomfort with your feet, ankles, knees or lower back a biomechanical assessment will help identify any alignment issues in the lower limbs which may be contributing to the problem. Together we will agree your individual treatment programme with the aim of reducing discomfort and preventing recurrence.
Orthotics are devices that are placed into the shoe to control potentially damaging forces through the foot and leg enabling your lower limbs to function more effectively and thereby reducing pain and the possibility of long term damage.
Minor surgical procedures for ingrowing toenails are performed under local anaesthetic. This is a very successful and permanent solution to recurring, painful ingrowing nails.
Acupuncture has been used to treat many podiatric medical problems, but is particularly useful for pain. It can help with joint pains and neurological conditions relating to the lower limb. It has also been used to treat problems such as plantar fasciitis, Morton's neuroma, arthritic joints, achilles tendinopathy and stress fractures.
Dermoscopy is mainly used to evaluate pigmented skin lesions. It is a non-invasive method of assessing the colours and microstructures of the skin layers and in experienced hands it can make it easier to diagnose melanoma.
Wilde Pedique is a great option for you if you have out of shape nails which you would like to disguise, or a split nail which needs holding together whilst it grows out. Wilde-Pedique is an acrylic resin that is applied to damaged or irregular nails in order to achieve a cosmetically pleasing appearance. The new nail can be painted with nail varnish in the same way as a normal nail and it can also be cut as normal. Nail reconstruction can be added as an extra to a standard treatment.
Verrucae are plantar warts that commonly occur on the soles of the feet or around the toe area. They are caused by the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV). They may appear as raised lumps and they may also have tiny black dots in the centre. At Coleraine Foot Clinic we are very pleased to offer a variety of effective treatments.
